Final

  1. Some work I have done this quarter in class are lots of poetry, a couple journal entries  I have in my journal, and lots of "t charts." I like making those. I found out that poetry is my favorite type of writing, especially the free verse kind. I like that because I don't have to rhyme everything. I also enjoyed the journal entries because I could express myself without being criticized. I really like that.
  2. A couple books I have read this quarter were Go Ask Alice for the hundredth time the Crank series again, and lately Cryer's Cross. It is really great so far! First book, Go Ask Alice is about a girl who moves away and starts using drugs. She says she won't touch them ever again but fails. and at the end she is dead from an over dose. No one is sure if she was drugged or if she did it on purpose. The second book I read was really a series of three books. Crank, Glass, and Fallout. These books were amazing, after I picked it up, I didn't put the books down. The series is about a girl named Kristina, or Bree. (she goes by both in the book) And she is introduced to meth. And this book explains the downward spiral of her life. The last book I read was  Cryer's Cross It was pretty good. I liked it, and it had some cool twists in it.This book was about a girl who's boyfriend went missing and she wasn't sure where he was, so she went out and found much more than she was wanting to.
  3. Making this blog was pretty cool. I got to make it my very own and it looks nice. I like the way my blog is set up, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I like that I can go on this whenever I want, and even after I graduate, I can go on here, and type my little heart out. I like this very much! I came up with my blogs name because this blog is suppose to reflect me, and anything I have to say. So "My story as a blog" sounded good, because the blog is about me. I would like anyone to read the work I have done. I enjoy when people are correcting my work to make it better. It feels great when that happens. I definitely continue to use the blog, and I will write about anything that comes to my head. I like to think on the spot when I write, simply because I feel more creative that way.
  4. Lots of things are in my journal, some very secretive things and some very open and I wouldn't care to share with some. I would let anyone read this journal as long as I trusted them and knew they wouldn't criticize it or mock me. I hate when people do that. I will use this in the future because I like to write out how I feel because it calms me down pretty well. I can write about anything and I certainly will. I enjoy writing, more than you know.
  5. This entry is one I did when I was really upset about a lot of things.

    The window is clear,
    nothing can beat this,
    much better than bliss.
    Something happened,
    the clouds cover the sky,
    my high is gone
    something went wrong...

    One little argument,
    led to all this violence,
    without a hero in sight.

  6. i have found what you are like:
                              (the sunshine)
                                 who brightens up my life,

mornings are full of light and glee
(my love you) warm me up from a bitter world
(you are the) light that guides me through this dark cold world.
(always) you are there (even when it is dark out)
for you (my love) are my sunshine.

  7. I don't really plan on having a career with writing creatively, but I might want to make a book down the road. I like the creativity this class gives to me. I feel like I can do any form of writing if I can do creative simply because I have to get my brain flowing when I write something creative, or anything in general! This form of writing differs from any other form of writing because there are no rules, no restrictions. That is wonderful if I may say so myself!

  8. Thank you very much for this wonderful quarter Mrs. Fraser! It was amazing! Have a wonderful next quarter, and make sure you have lots of fun! This class was great, you all are GREAT writers, even when some have writers block!

Poor

I am...
Poor and uneducated,
tough and hopeful,
I am...
free and in charge,
wanting the best for my kids
I am...
old but wise,
achy and tired
I am...

Lost

Day 1
We left the baren land and now we are on our way to the great fruitful land that the leader was talking about.

Day 63
Three more died today... Heat exaution is getting us all. Everyone is wanting tio find this land now. We have been out here for months, and still nothing. Everyone is way too skinny and it is sickening to look at. No one believes that we made the right decision.

Day 87
I think the leader got us lost...

Day 109
There is only two of us left. We need to find help.. I don't know where we are, but I feel like we have been walking in circles.

Day 200
My best friend died... And so now must I

Peaceful and pretty.

Three more sleepless nights,
all because of you and me.
Three more dreadful fights.

Bed time is nearing,
cant wait to hit that pillow.

Sleepy tired sore, and more.

Music and Writting

My favorite song is hard to pick. It is between two choice, one, Float On by Modest Mouse, or two, Party Song by Blink 182. I love both of these songs because they have a lot of meaning to me. Float On became my favorite because that song always cheers me up. It makes me relax, and calm down when I'm about to rip someones head off. The second song Party Song is my favorite as well because I always pretend that they are singing to me. Especially when I saw them in concert. I almost died when they sang that song. I tuned out everyone and pretended that they were singing to me. It was great!

My taste in music has changed so much over the past couple of years. I use to only listen to pop and a wee bit of rap. But nothing offensive. Now all I listen to is country music and every once in a while I'll listen to pop.

Without music, my life would be quiet. I wouldn't be able to calm down by the grace of a song. I would be depressed and I'm sure all the artist would be depressed because that is a way they cope too.

The music I think needs to be off this planet is Rap. I hate it. I hate how vulgar it is towards women and how a lot of women are okay with it makes me want to scream. Women are more than a piece of meat, and women need to stop making themselves that low. Another form of music i dislike would be electronic. I hate that music because it has no talent what so ever. All it is, is someone on a computer making different noises. which is dumb and talentless.

Something that music can only do for me is mellow me out. I can calm down really fast with music but on my own to calm down it takes a long, long time. Simply because I'm not distracted from the reason I'm upset..

Daydreaming....

So what, I'm a day dreamer! Some day dreams i always have are what life will be like when I'm older and moved out with a husband and kids. My dream always consist of Benjamin, as my husband, and lately i've been thinking of ways we will have our wedding. I think of all the pretty flowers, and everyone smiling. I can't wait til that day. When i'm in a beautiful white dress and my hair pinned up very nicely. Benjamin would be standing there with tears in his eyes. Oh my goodeness I want that day to happen so bad. It sounds so romantic. I also daydream about having kids. I want them so bad. I want two or three. Two boys and a girl. I want the girl to be the middle child. I already know the names of two of the kids. The first boy would be named Robert Shane Edwards, and the girl will be named Caitlyn Faith Edwards. Something like that. I love that thought. Now I 'm in a great mood.

Dan In Real Life

Questions:
2) Three tips I would give parents are don’t be overprotective, because the child will either rebel or the child will be afraid of everything. The second tip would be act dumb, what I mean by this is if you see something that isn’t too bad, don’t say anything about it. The third tip would be never give into bad behavior. Never let them win because they are throwing a fit.
18) I know a couple funny pick up lines, not really ones that work, because they never worked on me. The first one I heard that was pretty funny was “do you know how much a polar bear weighs? No? Enough to break the ice. Hi, I’m Emily” Another one is “hi there, does this smell like chloroform to you?” How awful right, I mean they obviously wont work on a girl, or boy. I wonder if anyone actually use those lines to pick up girls or guys.
26) When Marty says that love is an ability, not a feeling I kind of sort of believe it. I believe it because love is difficult. I have to admit, I don’t always feel love for my parents (as bad as that sounds) but I always love them still. It is always hard to admit to the feeling of love for me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have the ability to.
30) I am a terrible bowler. I am lucky if I get a 100. I usually get anywhere in-between a 50-70.  Which is really awful. I went bowling last night, and I never made it to 100, and my boyfriend got like 125 each game. We played like eight games too..

My very own

The window is clear,
nothing can beat this,
much better than bliss.

The sun is High in the sky,
not a cloud in sight to ruin my high.

Something happened,
the clouds cover the sky,
my high is gone
something went wrong...

One little argument,
led to all this violence,
without a hero in sight.

Movies

My favorite movie would be Crash. I like how real it felt to me, and I don't normally go for dramas.

I don't really like chick flicks, because I'm not that girl-y, and therefore hate catty- like behavior.

I usually watch movies at home, all the time. I like to snuggle up on the couch with popcorn and a blanket. Also I'm typically with my boyfriend since he made me a movie fanatic.

I definitely need a blanket, shoes off, some sort of snack and it has to be dark. If I don't have a blanket, i use my jacket or something. My legs have to be covered. My shoes have to be off simply because I'm most comfortable like that. I like to have a snack because I need to be doing something while I watch the movie, 'cause I can't sit still.I need it dark because my attention is towards the only light source in that particular room.

If my life was a movie, it would probably be a drama. It has some very heart touching moments, and some very anger filled moments. I would want Reese Witherspoon to be the actress that plays me. I want that because when I was little my mom told me I looked like her, so ever since then, she was hands down my favorite. I honestly don't see me being a look-a-like to her. I say that because she is hands down gorgeous, and me not as much.

Escorts

Where my clunker use to stay,
the Windex Blue paint was chipping,
the old oil stain to mark my parking spot,
and every dent was accounted for.

My mailbox, leaning half over
from many times of failed attempts of backing up.

There is no car today,
my baby is missing.

I have been missing my car,
even though i wasn't the nicest,
I sometimes talked meanly about him.

It should be a joyous summer night,
but for me,
there is no delight.

Just make sure you stop at that sign,
because one wrong turn
can leave you at a dead end

I want that flower!

Purple Red Blue

The ceremony was about to begin
everyone was there to watch.

I know the girls were jealous,
but this love was mine.

the love he had for me was  pure
and nothing was going to take that from me.

Some have tried,
but all have failed

He calms me down,
so i swallow my pride

Which is hard to do,
for someone like me...

But it is worth it all,
simply because

The ceremony was about to begin,

where I become his forever

Inspired pictures

He pushes the hair out of my eyes and kisses my lips so very softly, which makes the butterflies swarm all around my tummy, to make me completely and utterly speechless. No one can take this love away from me. I believe this love can only get better; there is no end in sight. His hand is in mine, and I begin to play with each of his fingers, going on the outside of each finger, wondering if he is thinking the same thing. As he backs away from the swing, and walks towards the ocean, I realize he is the one. The one I’ve been looking for my entire life. The one I need to make me feel whole. I love this man, I always will. I want to be the one he needs the rest of his life. Love can come in so many different ways, but I know this is the Love is a very wonderful thing to have in this world, and I have the best kind of love a man can give to me. When I look at him I realize that he is perfect. My angel sent from above. He turns to face me again with a tear running down his face; he gets on one knee, and says to me, what I’ve wanted to hear for the longest time ever. He is now my world, and all mine for the rest of time. I love you so much, always and forever!

Famous lines from famous books

"Most really pretty girls have pretty ugly feet, and so does Mindy Metalman, Lenore notices all of a sudden" This is from the book The Broom of the System, which was published in 1987 by David Foster Wallace. He was born on February 21, 1962 and died on September 12, 2008.

"I found this book terribly disappointing. The writing is overbearing and many of the characters go on long rants that feel like the thinly-veiled (and not particularly profound) philosophizing of the author. In fact, one of the characters in the book is critiquing a work of fiction and says, "...it tends to be hideously self-conscious. Mordantly cynical. Or, if not mordantly cynical, then simperingly naive. Or at any rate consistently, off-puttingly pretentious...It tries too hard, is really all we can say about most of it. There is simply an overwhelming sense of trying too hard." This is just such an apt description of The Broom of the System. I'm sure DFW knew that, which frustrates me--if he worried about being self-conscious, how could he allow himself to insert a passage like that into the text? I do not think this succeeds as a work of fiction. It is very funny at times, and his style provides a perpetually exhilarating exploration of what can be done with words. I just can't help but feel that so much of who these characters are and what they say to each other are driven by self-loathing and insecurity--by parts of DFW that he might have been better off working to let go of instead of so fully investigating. On page 342, one character says, "Perhaps what most of us perceive as the centers of ourselves are simply no longer needed. And we both know that the absence of function, in nature, means death." I felt reading that passage and many others a depression that I almost did not want to indulge by continuing to read."
This was a review by Stephen, http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/466019049. As you can see, he did not like the book one bit.
This is a summary I found of the book online http://www.nytimes.com/books/97/03/16/reviews/wallace-r-broom.html
This book I guess is about a girl named Lenore, she is very smart, and works as a receptionist

Something creative

The stranger…
This past Friday was the day I met that stranger. He wouldn’t tell me his name, and he wouldn’t take off his hat. The man was so different than all the others at the bar that night. He wouldn’t try to make the girls drink too much or try to make a fast one on any of us. He just observed. He spoke to me for a few minutes in a malicious tone, in which frightened me and my co-workers. He glanced at the bar keeper and ordered another beer and walked out. I didn’t see him again until the next morning on the news. He was found dead just four miles away from the bar in a local strip club. This confused me, because he didn’t try with any of the already drunk bimbos at the bar. I wanted to know what was with this man so I kept watching.
Waiting for the cab to work was exceptionally long today. Maybe it was because of the dead guy I didn’t know the name of. I think that man had something wrong with him. I wasn’t quite sure so I wanted to do research on him, and find out his story.
When the cab finally got to me, I was already on my phone looking at the news report on him. He was married to some lady no one ever met, and the kids the same way. The kids were sheltered from the world and home schooled. The wife and husband apparently were fighting that night, and that is why he was not at home. No one was sure why he was dead yet, and everyone was getting more curious by the minute.
Late that night after work, I was getting ready for a blind date with some dude that my friend Jakie wanted me to see. She said he was perfect, which means not my type. I like the chunky, glasses and nerdy look, and she was all for the buffed out, steroid freaks. (Ewe) But I tried anyways.
I wore a beautiful white blouse that gave me all the right curves, and wore a jean mini skirt with white heals. It looked gorgeous so I thought he would think so too. An hour past the time he was suppose to come the bell finally rang. I got up, pissed as hell and walked to the door. There he stood, the man that was on the news all morning long, the man that was supposed to be dead. I screamed and slammed the door in his face.
While I was trying to re-gather my thoughts, I heard a voice come from the kitchen, and I just about had a heart attack. I grab a hammer and investigate. As I walk into the kitchen a bag covers my head and I pass out.
Once I awoke from the sleep, I try to figure out where I am. I look all around and I’m lost. I don’t know what to do. I hear the kidnapper from the other room and I plea him for my life, but he isn’t interested in mine, and put a bullet straight in my heart.
The man was found a week later. He was found guilty and charged the death penalty. His last words were “she was a no good whore she cheated on me… She was sleeping with my best friend…”

Flyin'

Sick as a dog
High as a kite
It takes two to tango
Cost someone an arm and a leg

Some say I'm flyin',
higher than a kite

But i'm still on the ground,
sick as a dog,

Not sure how I got here,
but it took two of us to tango,

To get to this place,
costs way too much,
I now dont have my arm or my leg...

Eulogy

Friends stop mourning,
I'll still be with you,
I'm sorry I had to go,
But I will always stay true,
I'll protect you and guide you,
so don't be so blue.
I know this is hard,
But it was my final card,
I will love you all forever,
so for me, stay strong.

I have found what you are like...

i have found what you are like:
                          (the sunshine)
                             who brightens up my life,
mornings are full of light and glee
(my love you) warm me up from a bitter world
(you are the) light that guieds me through this dark cold world.
(always) you are there (even when it is dark out)
for you (my love) are my sunshine.

Writers as Readers!

1) When I read, I have to have absolutely nothing on my mind, and a lot of light. I cannot stand little to no light, it leaves me restless. I cannot see with little light, I have to squint real close to the book. Not a fun thing to do, especially when you have perfect sight. When there is something on my mind, nothing can be done. All I can do is try to figure out how to solve that problem, or what the situation is. It can be a bothersome experience when trying to read. I cannot concentrate with things on my mind.

2) My favorite types of books would definitely be realistic fiction, and mysteries. I like them to be combined, for example a realistic fiction mystery. I enjoy realistic fiction because i feel as if it was actually happening. I also enjoy reading a good mystery because i like the feeling of sitting on the edge of the seat, wondering what could happen next, and why that happened the way it did.

4) My best memory connecting to reading would be finishing the book The Husband by Dean Koontz. He's a great writer, but his books are confusing. I had to re-read pages to understand what just happened. I love that book, and he made me struggle with his writing, so I feel smarter for being able to finish his book!

5) I have picked up many books and just could not put them down. The very first book that I couldn't put down was Go Ask Alice. I enjoyed that book so much because it was real. I love hearing about other people, and why they did what they did. The book The Husband was hard to read, but i made it through because it was great. Just very difficult to read.

7) Go Ask Alice was the first book I remember reading. It is by far my favorite because it made me interested in reading, and writing. I know it won't matter what others think because she wrote this as a journal, and anything I decide to write can be like a journal too.

9) When I finished reading Wake I was happy because I could start the next book. I liked that book, but at the same time I didn't like it. It was a bit to science fiction for my taste when I thought it was going to be realistic fiction.

You may say... I am a dreamer!

I cant save her, even when she yells for me.
"Sissy,the man again, sissy! HELP!"
Her desperate screams send me to tears, so i search for her, everywhere. I finally find her outside, but the corn rows.
I scream to her, "Come here sissy, just run to me!"
She doesn't move an inch. All she does is scream and cry louder. I begin to beg her to run over to me, but she doesn't. In fact, she runs into the corn, I run after her but I'm not fast enough and lose her. Then I see him. He is dark, and absorbs light, so you can't get a good look at his face. He has a frightening laugh, that sends chills up your spine, and then it comes to me, I've heard that laugh before. It reminded me of Dr. Evil. He stops laughing and gave me the ugliest glare imaginable, and says in a deep monotoned voice, pinkie next to his mouth "If you ever want to see your precious 'sissy' again, you have to pay me one million dollars!"
I say to him that is impossible. I am only 17 years old, and work for minimum wage. I begin to weep and i guess he felt bad for me, so he patted my back and said "Fine, if that's too extreme for you, can you make it fifty dollars, and a coke?"
I smile and nod as I think what a sucker. Suddenly she reappears and says to me "Sissy, you did it! I'm safe! Thank you!"

Writers Dreaming

1)      I believe that Maya Angelou was saying that the caged bird was screaming for freedom, not just singing to you, like you want to believe. To me that means that NOT a thing likes to be trapped or caged up. It isn’t fair to trap anything. I agree with this one hundred percent because I personally don’t like to be trapped, or cooped up in the same area for more than a few hours. (Imagine people in prison, they must get stir crazy... Not saying they deserve to be let out though. They are dangerous.) I mean, at night when I’m trying to sleep, I can’t if the flat sheet is tucked under the bed. My feet get trapped, and I begin to kick and freak out. I feel cluster phobic

6)      I am not comfortable using any other languages fluently, like Maya Angelou was. I’m sort of jealous that she could speak so many languages perfectly. I have a couple years of Spanish, but not enough to say I’m fluent. I would absolutely love to be fluent in more languages; I would like to be fluent in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and even German. There are more I would like to learn, but    those are just a few of the main ones. I would like to learn Spanish because I would like to go to Spain, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico. I would like to learn French because I would like to go to France. Portuguese simply because Brazil. Italian, because it is so beautiful, and I would enjoy going to Italy. German, because I like how mean it sounds, and how weird the words are spelled. I would like to know all of these languages, because I would be very comfortable with others talking to me. I would be able to have many different conversations with many different people. The English language is not enough for me; I want to know it all!

9)      When I’m trying to occupy my small brain, I normally play with my hair, or tap my fingers on a desk or my jeans. It simply makes me more relaxed. My biggest distraction when I have to get something done is between sleep and cleaning. If I don’t want to get it done and I’m a little bit sleepy, I’ll go to sleep and not get it done until the very last minute. Or I’ll clean my entire bedroom, make it spotless. Not a speck of dust on anything. (I mean anything. I clean off my ceiling fan) I’ll refold all my laundry in my dresser, and hang things up that I feel needs it.

11)   I believe it is harder for people to learn as they get older, but not impossible. I believe you have to try harder and harder to understand, or comprehend what is being taught.

I Am...

I am…
I am…
the youngest of two, one boy one girl.
a sister resenting my age that prevents me from doing the things my brother can.
sour then sweet, aggressive then gentle.
sensitive and careful about what I say, and who I tell my story to.
loving and caring to those around me.
I am…
a girlfriend to Benjamin, my best friend, the one I hold nearest to my heart, a man that wants what I want, cares passionately for me, someone that wants to have children someday soon, who doesn’t care if I talk to loud, or that I burn everything I attempt to cook.
cloths everywhere on the floor but the basket.
late night phone calls, to friends and family.
walking my dog for miles, without looking back.
sweat pants, over sized t-shirt, pony tail, and tennis shoes.
strawberry milk, double stuff chocolate chip cookies, and chips.
I am…
sleepless nights due to projects for school.
countless books on my shelf, read at least three times each.
a short, auburn, green eyed mess.
an aunt to Micah, the sweetest thing in sight, almost one gets himself in lots of trouble.
Pottstown PA, where I was born, and spent seven of my years there.
Springfield MO, where I spent ten years, where I learned who I am, and where I learned who was there for me.
Paris, France, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, and Spain, all places I will go before I pass away.
