Writers as Readers!

1) When I read, I have to have absolutely nothing on my mind, and a lot of light. I cannot stand little to no light, it leaves me restless. I cannot see with little light, I have to squint real close to the book. Not a fun thing to do, especially when you have perfect sight. When there is something on my mind, nothing can be done. All I can do is try to figure out how to solve that problem, or what the situation is. It can be a bothersome experience when trying to read. I cannot concentrate with things on my mind.

2) My favorite types of books would definitely be realistic fiction, and mysteries. I like them to be combined, for example a realistic fiction mystery. I enjoy realistic fiction because i feel as if it was actually happening. I also enjoy reading a good mystery because i like the feeling of sitting on the edge of the seat, wondering what could happen next, and why that happened the way it did.

4) My best memory connecting to reading would be finishing the book The Husband by Dean Koontz. He's a great writer, but his books are confusing. I had to re-read pages to understand what just happened. I love that book, and he made me struggle with his writing, so I feel smarter for being able to finish his book!

5) I have picked up many books and just could not put them down. The very first book that I couldn't put down was Go Ask Alice. I enjoyed that book so much because it was real. I love hearing about other people, and why they did what they did. The book The Husband was hard to read, but i made it through because it was great. Just very difficult to read.

7) Go Ask Alice was the first book I remember reading. It is by far my favorite because it made me interested in reading, and writing. I know it won't matter what others think because she wrote this as a journal, and anything I decide to write can be like a journal too.

9) When I finished reading Wake I was happy because I could start the next book. I liked that book, but at the same time I didn't like it. It was a bit to science fiction for my taste when I thought it was going to be realistic fiction.

You may say... I am a dreamer!

I cant save her, even when she yells for me.
"Sissy,the man again, sissy! HELP!"
Her desperate screams send me to tears, so i search for her, everywhere. I finally find her outside, but the corn rows.
I scream to her, "Come here sissy, just run to me!"
She doesn't move an inch. All she does is scream and cry louder. I begin to beg her to run over to me, but she doesn't. In fact, she runs into the corn, I run after her but I'm not fast enough and lose her. Then I see him. He is dark, and absorbs light, so you can't get a good look at his face. He has a frightening laugh, that sends chills up your spine, and then it comes to me, I've heard that laugh before. It reminded me of Dr. Evil. He stops laughing and gave me the ugliest glare imaginable, and says in a deep monotoned voice, pinkie next to his mouth "If you ever want to see your precious 'sissy' again, you have to pay me one million dollars!"
I say to him that is impossible. I am only 17 years old, and work for minimum wage. I begin to weep and i guess he felt bad for me, so he patted my back and said "Fine, if that's too extreme for you, can you make it fifty dollars, and a coke?"
I smile and nod as I think what a sucker. Suddenly she reappears and says to me "Sissy, you did it! I'm safe! Thank you!"

Writers Dreaming

1)      I believe that Maya Angelou was saying that the caged bird was screaming for freedom, not just singing to you, like you want to believe. To me that means that NOT a thing likes to be trapped or caged up. It isn’t fair to trap anything. I agree with this one hundred percent because I personally don’t like to be trapped, or cooped up in the same area for more than a few hours. (Imagine people in prison, they must get stir crazy... Not saying they deserve to be let out though. They are dangerous.) I mean, at night when I’m trying to sleep, I can’t if the flat sheet is tucked under the bed. My feet get trapped, and I begin to kick and freak out. I feel cluster phobic

6)      I am not comfortable using any other languages fluently, like Maya Angelou was. I’m sort of jealous that she could speak so many languages perfectly. I have a couple years of Spanish, but not enough to say I’m fluent. I would absolutely love to be fluent in more languages; I would like to be fluent in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and even German. There are more I would like to learn, but    those are just a few of the main ones. I would like to learn Spanish because I would like to go to Spain, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico. I would like to learn French because I would like to go to France. Portuguese simply because Brazil. Italian, because it is so beautiful, and I would enjoy going to Italy. German, because I like how mean it sounds, and how weird the words are spelled. I would like to know all of these languages, because I would be very comfortable with others talking to me. I would be able to have many different conversations with many different people. The English language is not enough for me; I want to know it all!

9)      When I’m trying to occupy my small brain, I normally play with my hair, or tap my fingers on a desk or my jeans. It simply makes me more relaxed. My biggest distraction when I have to get something done is between sleep and cleaning. If I don’t want to get it done and I’m a little bit sleepy, I’ll go to sleep and not get it done until the very last minute. Or I’ll clean my entire bedroom, make it spotless. Not a speck of dust on anything. (I mean anything. I clean off my ceiling fan) I’ll refold all my laundry in my dresser, and hang things up that I feel needs it.

11)   I believe it is harder for people to learn as they get older, but not impossible. I believe you have to try harder and harder to understand, or comprehend what is being taught.

I Am...

I am…
I am…
the youngest of two, one boy one girl.
a sister resenting my age that prevents me from doing the things my brother can.
sour then sweet, aggressive then gentle.
sensitive and careful about what I say, and who I tell my story to.
loving and caring to those around me.
I am…
a girlfriend to Benjamin, my best friend, the one I hold nearest to my heart, a man that wants what I want, cares passionately for me, someone that wants to have children someday soon, who doesn’t care if I talk to loud, or that I burn everything I attempt to cook.
cloths everywhere on the floor but the basket.
late night phone calls, to friends and family.
walking my dog for miles, without looking back.
sweat pants, over sized t-shirt, pony tail, and tennis shoes.
strawberry milk, double stuff chocolate chip cookies, and chips.
I am…
sleepless nights due to projects for school.
countless books on my shelf, read at least three times each.
a short, auburn, green eyed mess.
an aunt to Micah, the sweetest thing in sight, almost one gets himself in lots of trouble.
Pottstown PA, where I was born, and spent seven of my years there.
Springfield MO, where I spent ten years, where I learned who I am, and where I learned who was there for me.
Paris, France, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, and Spain, all places I will go before I pass away.
